Recording
with my great friend from the UK Paul Jupe
A
while back I hooked up with a great old friend, guitarist
and vocalist Paul Jupe from the UK, we played together
way way back when we all thought we would conquer the
world (NOT of course). Thanks to the internet we are doing
it all again. Paul was always able to play something simple
and bring a lump to my throat. Rhythm, feel, emotion and
heart, that’s what it was all about.
This is the end section of Paul’s song “Tonite” vocals
still to be finished but I wanted to share this with you
all. It sounds real English dare I say! with a touch of
Foo Fighters, Whitesnake and Big County (remember them)
It was a great pleasure to work on this track and I hope
many more to come, you never know we may all conquer the
world again !!! (you never know)
Check
out my little drummer friend Debby and her band "Actrice"
from Florianopolis Basil. She is working hard to establish
herself as a pro drummer where she lives and plays regular
with her band.
I’m
happy to announce that I’m now working and hope to be
playing out live in 2011 with the band R2
with Rod Rossi and Davis Ramay http://www.rodrigorossi.com/
Check out what is going on and I hope the guys will be
announcing some dates very soon and check out the new

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
My Uncle Dom just played a great
show in Marseille France with Rob Hirons at Hotel De La Music,
here he is with my good buddy and drummer T Man !
At present we are all busy working on a major
Garnoe Production project for June, July and August
kicking off in Brazil. More news as events come in.
Garnoe Group launch Online Session Musician.
OSM has been
created to give writers, recording musicians and producers
an online opportunity to have their tracks complimented
by a very select group of international musicians without
the usual high costs incurred in a regular studio situation.
With the power of new recording products its now possible
to create amazing tracks fast and economically allowing
your music to be available in a very short period or time
GARNOE SIGNS BOOKING AGREEMENT WITH
AWAKE MEDIA FOR LATIN AMERICA - April 2009
Awake Media, based in Curitiba, Brazil will
now exclusively represent Garnoe Creative Group as booking
representation through Latin America
Here is a new online short video press video
in WMV format including some recent live clinic footage with
Rick Hale in New Mexico USA .
My recent announcement regarding endorsing
Gretsch Drums has already taken a change, due to miscommunication
from the distributor in the UK. I will post any updates from
here onwards but have some other options I'm looking at presently.
Ive been busy working in my new studio getting
all the building work finished. Andy Robbins is presently
in Brazil and will be visiting soon to work on business and
we will be at the Frankfurt Music Fair next April.
I would like to announce I will be endorsing
Gretsch Drums and Attack Heads from now on.
I look forward to receiving my first new kit in a few months
back in Europe which ill post here as soon as I get some pictures.
I head to Mexico City and Acapulco this week
Another great trip to New Mexico and Phoenix
this month. I got to work with Andy Robbins on the Garnoe
project in Phoenix and recorded some drum cuts for artist
Jamie Bird at Rick Hale Production Studio. We also did our
clinic at Lesmens Pro Audio which as usual was great. Rick
Hale (Keys), Marty F Simmons (sax) Rick's five year old son
David also wowed everyone with a special guest appearance
on keys.

Just got back from a great
trip to New Mexico USA. I have been cutting drum tracks with
my good buddy Producer Rick
Hale and guitarist, writer, performer Jamie Bird Yellowhorse.
Ill be putting a link to his new in studio video on here soon.
I had the first chance to mic the kit with some of
the amazing Cad
mics for the first time that Rick is endorsing in the
studio.
Jamie, Rick and myself
Rick working on his solo
I also hooked up with Garnoe
Productions guitarist Andres "Sid" Montoya and we
worked on some other client material at the same time which
is always cool as well as arranging material for an up and
coming tour for a major artist, I hope to have some of that
audio here soon as well.
April
I have a new experimental
project with Andres (Sid) Montoya which blends loops, dance
grooves and sounds with Rock and Spanish style guitars and
drums. We play our first show in Mexico on the 15th May which
will be a blast. Its different, and allows us to play interesting
riffs and beats around danceable music. I hope to have video
of the show on the site after the date and some audio clips..
I'm pleased
to add a new endorsement to my great list. Anyone who hasn't
laid their hands or should I say "feet" on the amazing
HANZENFUTS
pedals should do so if you are serious about practice anywhere
at anytime. The ultimate practice tool for your feet and can
be incorporated into your main set up as a multi use percussion
and trigger pedal.
Happy New
year to all viewing the page, I hope that the end of 2007
was as good for you guys as it was or me. So far this year
things have been busy already. I've been to New York, Germany
and Mexico. This year we have put together Garnoe
Production and Media Its a resource for artists and
companies looking for reliable in house personnel for tours
and events from musicians to
sound and light to online media and marketing.
There are
a number of great projects on the cards this year including
working with some great musicians and friends again.
Well its been
a great summer and I've taken some time out to work on the
house and the studio here in France. I have some exciting
projects coming for the new year which I'm keeping under my
hat for the time being. Needless to say we will be out on
the road very soon.
Today watched
on tv a very shocking show about the mess that Hawaii is having
to deal with thanks to the world of plastic. Please "Reduce
Reuse Recycle" a song by Jack Johnson also on the show.
Another number
of great trips during the last month or so to the UK and Germany.
June 21st
ill be doing a session here in France in my town of Beaulieu
for the Fete De La Musique which is a big event held all over
the country. It should be a fun evening with lots going on
so check out the site and see for yourself. Ill be playing
to a number of backing tracks I have been working on as well
as tracks written and produced by Rick Hale back in the USA.
Completely different from
a regular music festival, the Fête de la Musique is
above all a free popular fête, open to any participant
(amateur or professional musicians) who want to perform in
it. This Music day allows the expression of all styles of
music in a cheerful atmosphere. It aims at a large audience,
working to popularise musical practice for young and not so
young people from all social backgrounds. It gives an opportunity
to communicate and share a very special moment through music.
I have been busy working on
tracks with loops for solo drum shows. In June I will be playing
in the town where I now reside for their Fate de la Musique
which is a first here.
Check out my good
buddy Steve Kolb
http://www.f8infocus.com/ Stephan Kolb - Photographer
in New Mexico USA -Creating very interesting photo art with
a unique style. A must see!
SO, After
deep deep thought I have decided sadly that our MIC Program
has to now take a back seat for a while.
We had a great time with the
whole thing and i thank all who were involved and all the
students we have me. We believe that positive thought is what
life is all about but, It has been so hard to get so called
caring people to buy into something good. It seems that bad
news and sadness is what people want to hear these days and
nothing else (just watch the news) The more difficult it can
be made the better it must be, We say "NOT".
We will continue to push the
MIC message out with everything we do, and hope that at some
stage we will be back to carry on.
Until things change with the
media, school boards, so called education councils and specialists
its always going to be the kids that miss out due to the politics
of suits and ties and "cant do this cant do that".
January
07 - well its been a busy three months for
me and I've just got back to the house in France after my
visit to the US. Much recording with producer Rick Hale, great
as usual so nothing has changed there. Anyway, lots to put
up on the site over the next week. happy New Year to all.
Me and Mark Padillia of Lesmens Music Store in the
studio and with Haley Ackerman.
With
Rick and family, Scott, Sid, Sarah and Haley in the studio
For those interested in investing
in "In Ear Monitors" for your music, live or just
the old mp3 player - JVC Marshmallow buds $19.95,
can you believe?. I checked out all the sure stuff $100 to
$300 and these sound the same, I'm telling you.I
used them in the studio for the first time and they were awesome.
Special Thanks - to Mitch
at Remo for sorting out my heads for my visit www.remo.com
I was able to hook up with
Mark Padilla of Lesmens Music Store, always a great pleasure
to see what is going on with those guys. So they are just
in the process of movie making so ill let you know what and
when. I worked on a new website for Haley Ackerman www.haleyackerman.com
who has just got a record deal and her new cd cover and artwork.
Ok well its been a busy summer
so far in many ways now the fall is here there is a little
news. I'm back in the US from the 18th of October for a while.
I hope to be visiting some old students and a few other fun
things.
I have been working on a project
via the net with a great artist and vocalist from the UK and
other musicians based in Europe. Ill fill in the gaps later
but I hope we will be able to get it all together and tour
next summer.
There are possibilities of
some MIC style events coming up very soon so keep checking
back.
